- Prepare Cake & Pudding: Cut the prepared angel food cake into bite-sized cubes and set them aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together the 1 package of instant cheesecake pudding mix, 1 ½ cups milk, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Set this mixture aside.
- Assemble the First Layer: In a 13×9-inch baking dish, place half of the cake cubes in an even layer on the bottom of the pan. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes.
